• Day 1 Arrival Carcassonne
  • Arrive in the ancient fortified city of Carcassonne. You’ll soak up the view from your hotel, located just outside of the medieval walls. You will have time to relax by the pool before exploring the cobblestone streets of the old town. Stay at the 3-star Hôtel du Château and eat at the excellent restaurant Comte Roger. HB
• Day 2 Day trip from Carcassonne - 17 miles (27.2km)
  • You have the option of a beautiful ride today. Loop southwards from Carcassonne, on tiny roads through the vineyards, passing through small villages. Your goal is the town of St. Hilaire, with its 8th century abbey. After a visit and some lunch, return to Carcassonne along the Aude River. Of course, you can also simply enjoy the day in Carcassonne! Stay at the Hôtel du Château and choose your own restaurant in the old town. BB
• Day 3 Carcassonne to Siran - 26 miles (41.6km)
  • Cycle alongside the canal through picturesque Trèbes and Marseillet to the tiny hamlet of Siran. Stay at the 3-star Château de Siran. HB
• Day 4 Siran to Cabezac - 16 miles (25.6km)
  • Today your route is partially on the canal and partially amongst olive groves, vineyards and flowered fields. Leave the canal at Le Somail with its pretty bridges and cycle towards Bastide de Cabazac. HB
• Day 5 Cabezac to Villeneuve les Béziers - 27 miles (43.2km)
  • Easy cycling along the canal side through the villages of Colombiers and Capestang to finally reach Béziers, spend some time wandering the old cobbled streets before heading towards your hotel La Chamberte. HB
• Day 6 Villeneuve les Béziers to Sète - 31 miles (49.6km)
  • You will reach the end of the Canal du Midi today, as it empties into the sea at Agde. From there, enjoy the luxury of the beautiful new bike path that follows the sandy beach before arriving in the port town of Sète. Stay 2 nights at the Grand Hôtel. First night HB
• Day 7 Day at Sète
  • Take a day off from cycling and discover the bustling port town of Sète also known as the “Venice of Languedoc”. You will be sure to be tempted by one of the sandy beaches so take your bathing suit! BB
