- Day 1 Arrive Toulouse
Settle into your 4 star hotel and take in the warm and
colourful atmosphere of the ‘Pink City’. Visit the famous
cathedral Le Basilique Saint Sernin, or perhaps soak up
the sounds in one of the city’s many jazz cafés. BB
- Day 2 Toulouse to Castelsarrasin - 30 miles (48km)
Set off along the canal, passing through Agre Forest.
View the water slope in Montech, an engineering feat.
Relax in the evening in the beautiful 2 star Hôtel
Marceillac, a renaissance style, listed building. HB
- Day 3 Castelsarrasin to Agen - 34 miles (54.4km)
Today’s route will take you across the river Tarn, to Moissac,
renowned for its Romanesque abbey, which is classified
as a World Heritage Site. Follow the canal path to your
2 star hotel in the centre of Agen. HB
- Day 4 Day trip from Agen - 10 miles (16km)
An opportunity to rest today and visit this charming, small
city with its gothic arches and narrow medieval alleys.
Alternatively, choose from 2 short loop rides from Agen. HB
- Day 5 Agen to Tonneins - 30 miles (48km)
Follow the canal to the quaint village of Sérignac with
its octagonal 12 century bell tower. Leave the path to visit
Buzet, famous for its ‘Côte de Buzet’ wine. Tonight stay
at Hôtel de Fleurs in Tonneins, with dinner in a nearby
restaurant. HB
- Day 6 Tonneins to Langon - 36 miles (57.6km)
On your ride today visit le Mas d’Agenais, a picturesque
Roman town most famous for its church, continue through
the villages of Fourques, Melihan, Fontet and Castets en
Dorthe, where the canal joins the river Garonne. Your hotel
tonight is in the medieval wine town of Saint Macaire. HB
- Day 7 Day in Bordeaux
Take a morning train to Bordeaux and check in to your
hotel. Spend the day visiting ‘Little Paris’, so called
because of its stone mansions and smart city centre
terraces. Culture, art and music play a large part in this
friendly city. Good choice of restaurants. BB
