- Day 1 Arrival Vannes
Arrive early evening at the lovely walled town of Vannes.
Take a walk around the narrow cobbled streets and enjoy
the sunset from the attractive marina. Stay 2 nights at the
comfortable 2-star Golfe Hôtel in the centre of Vannes.
- Day 2 Presqu’île de Moustérain - 8 miles (12.8km)
Starting from the hotel, you will discover the Presqu’île
de Moustérain. After a short crossing to the Presqu’île
de Conleau you will then return along the pretty coastal
path to your hotel.
- Day 3 Vannes to Port Navalo - 5 miles (8km)
Take the ferry to Port Navalo and discover the two faces
of the presqu’île: the ocean and the gulf. A walk along
the Atlantic coast, on a rocky promontory, open to the
elements and in lush natural surroundings, will lead you
to the archaeological site of the Petit Mont. A magical
walk for a breath of fresh sea air! Stay 2 nights at the
Hôtel le Crouesty.
- Day 4 Circuit walk of the Pointes du Golfe - 9 miles (14.4km)
Spectacular panoramic views of the Gulf and its islands
on this coastal circuit walk which takes you to the Point
de Bilgroix, Kerners, and Penbert.
- Day 5 L’Ile d’Arz - 9 miles (14.4km)
At the start of a free day, ferry to the Ile d’Arz, the second
largest island in the Gulf. The island is small enough to be
explored on foot, the total combined distance around the
island on the coastal path is about 10 miles. Stay 2 nights
at the Hôtel l’Escale en Arz.
- Day 6 L’Ile-aux Moines - 10 miles (16km)
Ferry across to the Ile-aux-Moines for the day, the largest
of all the Gulf islands and nicknamed ‘La Perle du Golfe’
perhaps due to the wild mimosas and camellias which are
abundant along the rural tracks and coastal paths - the
white sandy beaches are never far away since the island
is long and thin. Return to your hotel on Ile d’Arz
- Day 7 Return ferry to mainland
Take a mid-day ferry back to Vannes and enjoy the
afternoon exploring one of the prettiest towns in Brittany
thanks to its cobbled streets and numerous colombage
(half-timbered houses). Last night at the Golfe Hôtel.
