Outward: Requires an overnight stay in Pau . Depart St Pancras International, change station in Paris, arrive Pau late afternoon. Early afternoon bus from Pau to Accous with change at Oloron Ste Marie.

Return: Requires a overnight in Pau. Late afternoon bus to Pau with change at Oloron Sainte Marie. Depart Pau, change in Paris, arrive London St Pancras late afternoon.

    • Your holiday
    • This program consists of 5 full days walking in the company of an experienced and qualified mountain guide, who can tailor the holiday perfectly to the needs of the group and the snow conditions. Each day, you will head off to the area’s most spectacular spots, where you may also catch glimpses of the local wildlife such as vultures and chamois. You will have a short journey by minibus from the gîte to the starting point of your three to five hour walk, during which your guide will give you plenty of information about the local natural environment and aspects of winter safety. All special equipment is provided but you do, of course, need suitable winter clothing and boots. There is also the possibility of spending one of the four nights at altitude. After a warming meal in a shepherd’s retreat, you will sleep in an igloo - a surprisingly cosy and altogether unforgettable experience!
    • Your gîte: Maison Despourrins
    • La Maison Despourrins is an old béarnaise farmhouse, typiical of the region, in the delightful village of Accous. Your host Annie will give you a warm welcome and make sure your stay with her is a memorable one. The living area features a huge open fire, where you can warm yourself and share stories of the day's adventures.
    • Meals
    • Enjoy the perfect combination of active days and indulgent evenings, savouring the delights of the regional cuisine and wines. Mealtimes are a typically French convivial affaire , shared around a large table, featuring locally sourced produce
