• • This single centre holiday is based 23 km from Albertville in St Nicolas la Chapelle, at the foot of the Aravis Range, with stunning views of the spectacular Mont Blanc. You will be joining a multi-national group guided by Erick Clément, who is English speaking. Erick has 20 years experience of leading groups in this area and knows the surrounding mountains around your base, so he can tailor the holiday perfectly to the needs of the group and the snow conditions. Each day he, or his assistant, takes the group to a different location at an altitude of between 1,000 and 2,400 metres. He will give you plenty of information about the local natural environment and aspects of winter safety.
• Your hotel: L'Eau Vive
  • You will stay in this beautiful Alpine-style chalet hotel, nestling in the small village of Saint Nicholas la Chapelle in the Val d’Arly. Run by husband and wife team Erick and Marie-Claude, you will receive a warm welcome and be enthusiastically introduced to many aspects of an authentic mountain lifestyle.
• Meals
  • You’ll be served breakfast and dinner in the charming dining room, with its open fire. Dinner features the best of the day’s fresh local produce - even herbs and wild plants gathered on the walks. Regional specialities such as tartiflette and raclette are also on the menu. You can choose to join the “guest table” or to have a table to yourselves.
• Walks
  • The walks are suitable for anyone of a reasonable level of fitness and children over the age of twelve. Erick will lead you on a program of walks that is gradual and adapted to the average level of the group. You can expect to be climbing between 200 and 600 metres for 4 to 5 hours per day. One resting day, or two half days, are planned during the week, which will allow you to explore the village, or simply relax at the hotel. The walks normally last all day, with a packed lunch provided, but you will occasionally return to the hotel for lunch. All special equipment is provided but you do, of course, need suitable winter clothing and boots.
