Outward: Depart St Pancras International station, change stations in Paris and trains at St Pierre des Corps,arrive Montrichard late afternoon. Transfer to hotel included (5 mins).
Return: Transfer to Montrichard station included (5 mins). Change trains at St Pierre des Corps and stations in Paris, arrive St Pancras International station late afternoon.
- Day 1 Arrival Bourré
- Your first night is spent at the lovely Château de
Vallagon in the small village of Bourré on the outskirts of Montrichard. Enjoy exploring the hotel grounds and take time for a dip in the pool. The menu is concocted from locally sourced food – including mushrooms from the nearby Cave des Rôches in Bourré
- Day 2 Chenonceaux to St. Aignan - 24 miles (38.4km)
- Follow the Cher River past troglodyte homes. Or rise onto the Touraine plateau to the magical Château de Gué Péan.
- Day 3 Day trip from St. Aignan - 30 miles (48km)
Today you could visit the nearby Zooparc de Beauval. Or cycle to Valencay with its motor museum and grand château.
- Day 4 St Aignan to Chitenay - 25 miles (40km)
- Head north through forests to Cheverny, perhaps visit the Château before the final short ride to Chitenay to stay two nights at one of our favourite hotels, the lovely Auberge du Centre.
- Day 5 Day trip from Chitenay - 20 miles (32km)
- Several great options: you can cycle to Chaumont to visit the International Garden Festival. Or cycle to Blois, which has a Royal palace open to the public.
- Day 6 Chitenay to Chenonceaux/Montrichard - 30 miles (48km)
- Today your journey back to our base passes through colourful flower-decked villages, interspersed with orchards and vineyards with a chance to explore Château de Chenonceau.
