Hotel - Chateau de Mercurey

This is a wonderful Chateau sitting on the edge of the old part of the famous wine-producing village of Mercurey. This is a pretty pale stone village getting on with the day to day business of making excellent wine. The situation of Chateau de Mercurey means that because it sits on rising ground, there are wonderful views back to the village and along the valley which is covered in a jigsaw of vineyards. The Chateau enjoys a pretty garden which has a heated pool and a summer house, again with lovely open views. But inside the Chateau really comes into its own. Renovated and refurbished in 2009, it has retained its grandeur in the main living rooms and bedrooms, but has additional features like a gym in the basement and sauna, a games room, large flat screen TVs and wonderful bathrooms - all the bedrooms are ensuite. This really is a very nice way to live, especially if you opt for the services of the Traiteur and Chef. Further afield, the Burgundy town of Chalon sur Saone is within easy reach, as are the historic towns of Beaune and Tournus and you have easy access to lovely cycles and walks, which we can give you further information on if you would like.
