Rail Travel
Outward: Depart St Pancras International station, change stations in Paris and trains in Dijon, arrive Beaune late afternoon.
Return: Depart Beaune, change trains in Dijon and stations in Paris, arrive London St Pancras International station late afternoon.
- Day 1 Arrival Beaune
- Arrive in Beaune and make your way to either Hôtel
des Remparts or Hôtel Central. Both in the centre of
town with plenty of restaurants nearby. B&B
- Day 2 Beaune to Chassey-le-Camp - 20 miles (32km)
- Collect your bicycle from our local agent near the rail station. Cycle through vineyards on quiet lanes through the wine villages of Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Puligny Montrachet, and Santenay to the Auberge Camp Romain at Chassey-le-Camp. HB
- Day 3 Chassey-le-Camp to Dracy-le-Fort - 20 miles (32km)
Descend into Remigny to join the canal towpath cycleway past Chagny to reach Rully. Then quiet lanes to Mercurey, Mellecey and Germolles to Dracy le Fort and Hôtel Dracy, for two nights half board at this 3-star hotel with outdoor pool. HB
- Day 4 Day trip from Dracy
- Today you could simply have a day off beside the pool with a good book or cycle south to wine village of Givry and then follow the Voie Verte to the medieval village of Buxy.
Return through shaded woodland. HB
- Day 5 Dracy-le-Fort to Verdun-sur-les-Doubs - 20 miles (32km)
- Follow the cycle track through the Forest of Chalonnais to join the canalside path to Fragnes, then cross-country on quiet roads to Verdun sur les Doubs and the Hostellerie
Bourguignonne where a gourmet meal is assured, one night half board. 3-star hotel with noted restaurant. HB
- Day 6 Verdun-sur-les-Doubs to Beaune - 25 miles (40km)
- A ride on quiet roads cross-country and through forest takes you back to Beaune for your final night B&B.
