Travel

Direct flights from Gatwick to Ajaccio with Easy Jet (Sundays only). Ferry from Marseille to Ajaccio or Bastia.

  • Day 1 Arrival Ajaccio
    • Explore the vibrant coastal town of Ajaccio, or take the cliff walk that towers above the town offering stunning views of the coastline. B&B
  • Day 2 Scala de Santa Regina to Calacuccia - 6 miles (9.6km)
    • Take an early train to Corte where you will be transferred to the start of the walk at the Scala de Santa Regina. Follow the ancient shepherds trail which winds in and out of the Niolu valley taking you through granite cliffs to the highest villages in Corsica. HB (+700m -340m)
  • Day 3 Calacuccia to Evisa - 9 miles (14.4km)
    • Short transfer to the starting point of today’s walk. Pass through scented forests, cross over the famous Col de Vergio before the winding trail descends towards the charming village of Evisa. HB (+600m -750m)
  • Day 4 Day walk - 6 miles (9.6km)
    • Evisa known as the ‘pearl of the mountains’ is a charming village from which you can start a circular walk: the ‘old village trail’ passes through some really rural Corsican villages. HB (+300m -300m)
  • Day 5 Evisa to Porto - 8 miles (12.8km)
    • Descend into the famous Spelunca gorge, spectacular views continue throughout the day, maybe have a dip in one of the natural rock pools en route. HB (+320m -1170m)
  • Day 6 Porto to Piana - 7 miles (11.2km)
    • Perhaps take some time visiting the town of Porto or enjoy a cooling moment on the beach before heading off on the old mule path to Calanche de Piana - look out for amazing rock formations and enjoy the superb views over the bay. HB (+520m -140m)
  • Day 7 Piana to Ajaccio
    • Take a 3 mile walk down to the small sandy cove of Ficaghiola for a swim. Private transfer back to Ajaccio in the afternoon. B&B
