Outward: Depart St Pancras International station, change trains at Lille Europe, arrive Avignon late afternoon. Taxi transfer to hotel not included (20 minutes, about 25€).
Return: Transfer to Avignon station included, change trains at Lille Europe, arrive St Pancras International station late evening.
Arrivals by Air
We cannot arrange air travel but you can arrange your own air travel into Avignon or Nimes and we can arrange transfers from Avignon airport - please call for a quote. Or we can arrange rail travel from Nimes to Avignon again please call for a quote.
- Day 1 Arrival Gravenson
- Settle into your family-run 2-star hotel, relax by the pool and look forward to the week ahead. In the evening enjoy a gentle stroll around Graveson. HB
- Day 2 Saze to Remoulins - 12 miles (19.2km)
- After a transfer to Saze, head off up the lanes into the Provençal countryside. You will spot the little stone hutsknown as capitelles, ancient in construction and used as stores and shelter for shepherds. HB
- Day 3 Day trip from Remoulins - 6 miles (9.6km)
- Just down the road from your 2-star hotel, the Pont du Gard is a must. It does not take long to walk into the attractive countryside of the Gardon valley along dusty lanes to picturesque villages perched on the hilltops. HB
- Day 4 Remoulins to Beaucaire - 13 miles (20.8km)
Rise up onto the hillside to join the GR6 footpath. You walk through fields of redcurrants, apples, walnuts and vines. Visit the Abbaye St. Romain, on a ridge overlooking the Rhône, before settling in at your 3-star hotel. HB
- Day 5 Beaucaire to Fontvieille - 11 miles (17.6km)
- Pass through the narrow streets of the old walled town of
Tarascon, then head out through the olive groves, rough pasture and woodland towards the hills and the limestone outcrops of Les Alpilles. You’re guaranteed a friendly welcome at our 3-star hotel in this typical Provençal village. B&B
- Day 6 Fontvieille to St. Rémy - 13 miles (20.8km)
- Return to the hills of Les Alpilles and climb to the medieval village of Les Baux. As you descend into St Rémy and your centrally located 2-star hotel, pass the sanatorium where
Van Gogh painted some of his most famous works. B&B
- Day 7 Day trip from St Rémy - 6 miles (9.6km)
- St Rémy itself is known for its charm and sophistication, but why not walk up to the higher reaches of Les Alpilles for grand views over the Camargue before enjoying your final meal of the holiday in one of St Rémy’s lovely restaurants. B&B
