Rail Travel
Outward: Depart London St Pancras International, change stations in Paris and trains Aix les Bains le Revard, arrive Albertville. Transfer to hotel included.
Return: Transfer to St Nicolas followed by bus to Albertville station, change trains at Aix les Bains and stations in Paris, arrive London St Pancras International station late evening.

Erick Clément is an experienced and qualified mountain leader with the ‘National Brevet’ accreditation. Each day he, or his assistant, takes the group to a different location for a walk in the Alps at an altitude between 1,000 and 2,400 metres. Summer or winter you will enjoy the spectacular scenery, summer pastures abundant with flowers, forests of pine trees and high ridges with views of Mont Blanc.
A rest day is included in the schedule, usually with an optional visit to local places of interest. The hotel has a minibus to transport you to and from the chosen walking area.
You join a multi-national group with an English speaking guide. Walks are tailored to match the average ability of the group.

- L’Eau Vive
- You will stay in this beautiful Alpine-style chalet hotel, nestling in the small village of Saint Nicholas la Chapelle in the Val d’Arly. Run by husband and wife team Erick and Marie-Claude, you will receive a warm welcome and be enthusiastically introduced to many aspects of an authentic mountain lifestyle.

- Meals
- You’ll be served breakfast in the characterful dining room, often featuring Marie-Claude’s home-made jam. Dinner features the best of that day’s fresh local produce - even herbs and wild plants gathered on the walks. You can choose to join the “guest table” or to have a table to yourselves.

- Walks
- The summer ‘Chamois’ programme runs from 21 May to 01 October. Daily guided walks of five to seven hours tailored to match the average ability of the group. Climbing perhaps 800m in summer and 400m in winter with optional extensions to reach some of the local summits, a good level of fitness is necessary. Picnics are provided.

- WINTER OPTION
The winter ‘Trappeur’ programme runs from 11 December 2010 to 02 April 2011
All special equipment, raquette snow-shoes or crosscountry skis are provided but you do, of course, need suitable winter clothing and boots.
