- Your Hotel for 7 Nights - La Découverte
- Your hotel ‘La Découverte’ is located in the centre of the tiny village of St Bonnet le Froid, altitude of 3700ft (1130m), west of the Rhône valley. The stone built hotel, converted from an old convent school, provides simple accommodation on three floors. Facilities include a sauna and outdoor pool. In summer, the village is surrounded by lush, flower-filled meadows and the prominent presence of le Mézenc on the skyline.

- Meals
Generous picnics are provided at lunchtime. In the evening, hearty meals, featuring regional dishes based around local produce, are served on a table d’hôte basis and are eaten at a large table, for a real house-party atmosphere. By the end of your week, you will be old friends with your housemates with good memories to share.

- Walks
- Daily guided walks of 7-10 miles take you to discover lakes in extinct volcanoes, ancient stone terraces and tumbling streams through pretty villages, with a pause to enjoy your picnic and take in your marvellous surroundings.

- WINTER OPTION
In February there are guided walks with raquette snowshoes or cross-country skis. Mornings are spent improving technique and then you head off on the daily excursion. All special equipment is provided but you do, of course, need suitable winter clothing and boots.

- Foire aux Champignons
- In October there is a special Mushroom Discovery week - you know how the French love to collect and cook all the different species of mushrooms. On this holiday you learn which varieties are safe to eat and your meals will include special mushroom recipes.
