Outward: Depart St Pancras International station, change trains in Paris, arrive Souillac early evening. Transfer to hotel included (30 mins).

  • Day 1 Arrival Martel
    • Relais Sainte Anne - a delightful hotel located in the heart of the charming, medieval town of Martel know as the town of the Seven Towers. Dinner in the hotel.
  • Day 2 Day trip from Martel - 7 miles (11.2km)
    • A circular route to discover the pretty hamlet of Murel with it’s Romanesque church before heading off up the valley of Doue.Trip to restaurant Le Pont de l'Ouysse for a 'dîner gastronomique'.
  • Day 3 Martel to Meyronne - 7 miles (11.2km)
    • Today your route takes you via Mont Mercou with splendid views of the Dordogne valley - stay tonight at the charming Hôtel La Terrasse - wonderful food and splendid views along the Dordogne River
  • Day 4 Day trip from Meyronne - 7 miles (11.2km)
    • A circular route with breath taking views of the peaks of the Roc des Monges, then return to Meyronne on a narrow walk way cut in to the cliff passing prehistoric shelters.
  • Day 5 Meyronne to Rocamadour - 8 miles (12.8km)
    • Today’s walk takes you out of the Dordogne valley and into the Park Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy and the spectacular town of Rocamadour which clings precariously on to the cliff edge. Stay in the lovely Hôtel les Vieilles Tours in peaceful countryside above the town.
  • Day 6 Day trip from Rocamadour - 9 miles (14.4km)
    • A wonderful circuit which takes you into the splendid Alzou gorges past ancient mills, and return along quiet, rocky footpaths across the plateau.
  • Day 7 Rocamadour to La Treyne - 10 miles (16km)
    • Today descend towards Lacave through the rock canyons of the valley of Ouysse passing a succession of mills and pits, continue to the Château de Treyne: a noble residence built originally in the 14th century this beautiful hotel sits on top a cliff majestically overhanging the splendid Dordogne River. Final night to linger over a sumptuous meal as you recap on the best bits of your holiday.
  • Day 8 Depart
    • Transfer to rail station or back to Martel to collect your car.
