Rail Travel

Outward: Depart St Pancras International station, change stationsin Paris, arrive Bordeaux late afternoon. Transfer to hotel not included.

Return: Depart Bordeaux, change stations in Paris, arrive St Pancras International early evening.

  • Day 1 Arrival Bordeaux
    • Relax in the centrally located Hôtel Sainte Catherine, a warm welcome awaits you, with a presentation of what to expect for the week ahead. Dinner in a nearby restaurant. HB
  • Day 2 Bordeaux to Cadillac - 18 miles (28.8km)
    • Transfer to Latresne to start your route. Follow a cycle track to the ancient town of Sauve Majeure. Continue through hills and vineyards to Cadillac for your overnight at Hôtel Château de la Tour. HB
  • Day 3 Cadillac to Saint-Macaire - 15 miles (24km)
    • Cycle through the villages of Loupiac and Sainte Croix du Mont, whose names are given to the famous syrupy wines of this area. Pass the Château Malromé once owned by the Toulouse-Lautrec Family! Why not stop and taste the château wines. Overnight stay at Hôtel Feuilles d’Acanthes in the fortified town of Saint-Macaire. HB
  • Day 4 Saint-Macaire to Saint Emilion - 31 miles (49.6km)
    • Follow the right bank of the Dordogne and continue along world heritage listed landscapes to the wine region of St Emilion. A two night stay at Le Logis des Remparts. HB
  • Day 5 Day trip from Saint Emilion
    • Spend the day discovering Saint Emilion and its surrounds: Saint Christophe des Bardes, Saint Etienne de Lisse, and the town which saw the final battle of the 100 years war: Castillon la Bataille. HB
  • Day 6 Saint Emilon to Bordeaux - 35 miles (56km)
    • The journey back takes you through the most extensive vineyards of the Bordelais, passing through the pretty regional villages of Saint Suplice de Faleyrens, Branne and Le Moulon. Dinner included. HB
  • Day 7 Bordeaux
    • Discover the world heritage city of Bordeaux, an 18th century architectural gem, take in some shopping in the vibrant quarter of Saint Michel before indulging in that last glass of Bordeaux wine. Tonight is B&B only enabling you to choose your own restaurant. B&B
