Outward: Depart St Pancras International station, change stations in Paris and arrive Reims mid afternoon.

Return: Depart Reims mid morning, change stations in Paris, arrive St Pancras International station late afternoon.

  • Day 1 Arrival Reims
    • Check in at the elegant Best Western Hôtel de la Paix or Hôtel Grand Continental, both in the heart of old Reims and just a short walk from the famous cathedral. Hôtel de la Paix has a pool and fitness room. B&B
  • Day 2 Reims to Sept-Saulx - 8 miles (12.8km)
    • Explore the city centre in the morning before a taxi takes you out of the city to the Fort de la Pompelle. A level canal side walk to the village of Sept-Saulx to limber up the muscles and a superb meal at the Hôtel le Cheval Blanc. HB
  • Day 3 Sept-Saulx to Tours-sur-Marne - 15 miles (24km)
    • Pass along quiet lanes through vineyards and follow the GR up into the woodland of the Montagne de Reims before descending through vineyards to the flower decked village inn La Touraine Champenoise on the banks of the canal beside the River Marne. HB
  • Day 4 Tours sur Marne to Epernay - 7.5 miles (12km)
    • Today follow the tow path to Mareuil sur Ay, then leave behind the canal to continue along gravel tracks into the impressive town of Epernay for two nights at the charming 3-star hotel La Villa Eugene which used to be the home of the Mercier Champagne family. B&B
  • Day 5 Day in Epernay
    • An opportunity to explore the city of Epernay and visit the famous Champagne Houses, such as Mercier, Castellane, or Moet et Chandon. Or simply relax by the hotel pool perhaps with a glass of champagne in your hand! B&B with a good selections of restaurants just a short walk away.
  • Day 6 Epernay to Champillon - 10 miles (16km)
    • Stroll through vineyards to Cumières. Perhaps take a boat trip or explore the pretty village of Hautvilliers, and then a couple of miles further to the Château Royal Champagne-Bellevue at Champillon and a truly gourmet dinner. HB
  • Day 7 Champillon to Rilly-la-Montagne 8 miles (12.8km) and train to Reims
    • A woodland walk across the Montagne de Reims descending to the village of Rilly-la-Montagne with its Premier Cru Champagne appellation. Take a twenty minute train ride into Reims for your final night at the Best Western Hôtel de Paix or Hôtel Grand Continental. B&B
