Provence and Corsica Holidays
La vie Française
Weather
July and August are very hot. In Spring and Autumn you can experience warm days with occasional summer storms. The Mistral wind makes the skies as blue as you will ever see them.
Wine & Cuisine
Savour the glistening pans of tomatoes, garlic, herbs and olive oil that combine so beautifully in a variety of dishes. Wild herbs lend a delicate aromatic flavour to meat dishes. As for fish, enjoy an authentic bouillabaisse, the legendary fish stew from Marseille. In Corsica game, boar and sheep’s milk cheeses are popular. Provençal wines need no introduction. Côtes du Rhône should always be a good bet but spend a little more and enjoy a seriously chunky Châteauneuf du Pape, or a robust red from one of the lesser known villages like Gigondas
How would you like to...
Meander the dappled waters of the River Rho^ne, as the barge chef prepares this evening’s supper? Soak up the landscape and light that inspired Van Gogh and so many others? Trek across the raw, wild beauty of the Corsican hills?
