Champagne and Alsace Holidays
La vie Française
Weather
Although winters can be harsh in Champagne and Alsace, summer and autumn are particularly mild given the regions’ relatively northerly locations.
Wine & Cuisine
From seafood to chicken, cuisine Champenoise naturally incorporates Champagne wherever possible. Try Potée Champenoise, a warming dish of smoked ham, cabbage and sausage. Brie cheese is also local. Alsatian traditional dishes include choucroute (sauerkrout), baeckeoffe (potatoes and pork) and delicious flammekueche, made from bread dough, cream, onions and pieces of sliced bacon. Champagne dominates wine lists in its region and is offered for all courses (alongside other choices). In Alsace good beer, but also a variety of aromatic white wines are produced: Riesling, Gewurtztraminer, Muscat and Sylvaner, to mention but a few.
How would you like to...
