There's no need to worry about carrying your luggage, as it's all transferred for you and will be awaiting your arrival at your next hotel. So whilst you experience the satisfaction of exploring France at your own pace, under your own steam, we'll take care of all the arrangements for you - all you have to do is pedal.
Our bikes - everything you need
All our bikes are prepared in advance and you can hire cycle helmets for £1 a day. Simply provide us with your height and inside leg measurement and your bike will be awaiting your arrival. Our bikes are usually hybrids - a cross between tourer and mountain bike that's perfect for the distances and terrain you'll be covering. The saddles are made wide for touring, but you can also bring your own if you wish. We also provide you with panniers to carry your picnic and supplies for the day.
We'll provide you with a repair kit containing a spare inner tube and puncture repair kit. If your bike breaks down, our local representative will come out with a replacement, enabling you to continue your holiday without delay. However, you will need to know how to repair your own puncture!
If you're travelling by car and wish to bring your own bike, this will reduce the cost of your cycling holiday by £4 per day.
What to expect on our cycling holidays
We don't consider any of our cycling holidays to be too much of a challenge; every day has a carefully planned itinerary; the pace at which you travel is up to you. Cycling distances between hotels range between 10 and 40 miles, perfectly manageable considering average cycle speed is between 6 to 8 miles per hour - or much faster downhill or on the flat with the wind behind you! If faced with a climb, you can always get off and push for a bit - that's what we do!
Most of our cycling holidays are circular; you cycle from hotel to hotel, with one or two nights at each hotel before moving on. If you'd prefer to stay in one place for the duration then we have a couple of fixed base options available too. All of our cycling holidays are self-guided, which means that you'll be cycling independently at your own pace.
